About Joan

I've been a practicing massage therapist for the past 30 years. My training has been vast and ongoing, drawing from many approaches including Swedish, Acupressure (trigger points), OrthoBionomy (joint mobilization), and Reiki (energy work).

Thirty years of massage therapy and computer work left me with some habitual postures that were causing pain and chronic tension. I found that various exercise programs and bodywork techniques helped, but weren’t changing deep neurological habitual ways of moving that were at the root of my pain and tension. The search for more effective solutions led me to an 800-hour Feldenkrais® training which helped me explore, unwind and replace unhealthy postures with more effective ways to move, sit, stand, hike, garden and do my work.

I now find the Feldenkrais® movement work in combination with my mindful hands-on work lead to more permanent changes in clients as well—enabling them to move freely and live a full, enriching life.

One-hour sessions are designed to fit individual goals and needs: either with more emphasis on massage-techniques (unclothed) or a more movement-oriented combination (clothed).  Please feel free to call or email me to find out more about my work, 720-988-7473.
